They made their own tailored leather products right there and this is made from goat leather, which is also called cabrito in the Rio Grande Valley. It’s a nice soft flexible leather. T he color is fire engine red. Notice the western style with the dipped yoke in the front and back and the two front pockets. Two front pockets have an extra piece stitched on the top, nice touch. Buttons are covered with the same leather and inside are clear plastic buttons to secure the buttons and protect the leather. Button holes have stitching around the opening for wear protection and attractiveness. Darts of course for the woman’s fit. An extra piece is sown under each ar m for comfort in moving. There is a vent in the back. Mom bought this jacket new in the early 1970’s and rarely wore it and kept it covered and protected and it looks new. It is really nice. Wish I could wear it. This is a jacket for all time! Inside sewn in the black satin lining is the Leather Factory label with size 13/14. Sizes might have been different in the 70’s so here are the measurements. +++ 1 6 ” top of shoulder from seam to seam +++ 26 1/2 ” from back seam below collar to bottom seam +++ 20 ” across the front from bottoms of sleeve seams buttoned +++ 20 ” across the back from bottoms of sleeve seams +++ 23″ sleeve length from top of shoulder to wri st +++ 5 ” sleeve bottom wid th, 10″ circumference at wrist +++ 1 8 ” seam length under arm to bottom seam If you would like more measurements please let me know. 21 1/2 pit to pit. 32 bottom of collar to hem. I don’t know what the outside brown fabric is made of. It is not suede or leather. Feels almost like corduroy but I don’t think it is. None of the tags state material. I do know that the inside and trim is sheep wool. I don’t see any flaws on the coat. This is a men’s traditional tan/ brown western suede leather with fringe and beautiful hand laced beading. It is a size 40. It was only worn three times. There is a smooth nylon lining. The fringe on the front and back yokes, sleeves, and front pockets is in excellent shape. The shoulder seam to cuff length is 24″, shoulder to shoulder seam measures 20″, and collar to bottoms length is 33. The buttons are conchos and there is also whip stitch detailing.
