Ellis is inspired by the famous Mexican leather designer Arturo Archoca of Pieles Pitic based in Pitiquito, Sonora, Mexico. Arturo passed several years ago and his leather designs are collector items now. He collaborative and taught North Beach Leather, Burray Olson, Ren Ellis Renegade and inspired designer like Ira Hoss of Volcano. Theirs work of are leather design were worn by famous celebrities such as Santana, Elvis, Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin, The Doobie Brothers, George Jones, Geraldo, Neil Young, countless country and western groups and entertainers, top rock musicians and astute business men and women. Other celebrities include White Snake, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Bob Dylan. The craftsmanship by the leather designer Arturo Archoca is top notch. He grew up making leather clothing for the rock bands of San Francisco. He made custom work for many Hollywood notables and rock stars, including Dick Van Dyke, Barbra Streisand, Jon Peters, Chaka Khan, Buffie St. John, Billy Idol, country duo Brooks and Dunn, Jones, and even the legendary Groucho.
