This retro rancher coat has the look and feel of the old-school high quality English sheepskins, where the outside is nubuck-feeling leather that is softer and springier than nappa, while tougher than suede; the inner fur is dense, springy, and soft; the coat looks like two sides of one thick, dense sponge instead of two different materials on either side. Thick, a bit hefty, very dense and warm without being stiff. It ages well, gaining a lustrous patina over the years. The pockets are on the outside, with additional spongey layers of fur. Sleeves can be turned up with raw edge. Buttons feel slightly loose, but has no impact on function. The right bottom hem has a slight opening where the seams opened; threads have been tied off so the damage will not spread. Around 1 inch as shown in photos. Otherwise functionally robust, with only generalized darkening from wear. Roughly estimated to be a Medium; please check measurements, as the waist is rather slim while the shoulders are comparatively broad.
