VTG Schott 212 Mountain Man Real Long Hair Sheepskin Shearling Fur Coat Jacket

Rare, collectible, real long hair sheepskin coat by the legendary SCHOTT NYC. It’s as soft, comfortable and warm as it looks. A work of art and an heirloom piece. From a Schott representative. The jacket was style # 212 and was a “long hair wool” Genuine Sheepskin jacket. It was referred to as the “Mountain Man Coat” and was produced from 1979 – 1987. Based on the label, I can date this coat from between 1983 and 1987. There were only between 200 and 250 made per year, as this was a very expensive coat in it’s day. It is in generally very good condition, but there is one pretty good goober/blemish on the back of the collar (see picture). Its something stuck to the outside, not a scratch, so it may be fixable. The fur is very soft and clean feeling, the suede very supple. Besides the one blemish it is in generally VG/VG+ condition. Full disclosure: It has a stale cigarette odor. It’s not overpowering, but it’s unmistakable and bad enough that i need to disclose it. I’m going to try a baking soda treatment on the fur after i post this listing, so if you are interested in this and watch it, and notice this disclosure deleted, it worked and the odor has been successfully eliminated. Size 42, but the size is quite. Because the sleeves are cuffed and adjustable, and the buttons are tied off with rawhide laces that are. Vintage Neiman Marcus Calf Hair Swing Coat Jacket Reversible EUC XL Beaver Trim

This is an amazing jacket. Has incredible style–swing coat with bell sleeve–and done in spotted calf. I’m not sure if it’s one of a kind but might be. Has the Neiman Marcus label inside one pocket and someone’s monogram in the other pocket. And it’s reversible. You can hide a multitude of sins inside a jacket’s lining but when it’s reversible the sewing and design has to be impeccable. Trimmed with what I believe is sheared beaver. Seems like the sort of jacket a fashion icon would wear. Would also be compatible with chunky turquoise necklaces, boots and western wear. No size tag but I wear an XL and it fits me perfectly. It’s probably going to fit a large to a 2X best. 30 inches from underarm to underarm. 34 inches from shoulder to hem. Has dropped shoulder construction so I really can’t give the sleeve length or shoulder measurement. But the sleeves are full length.
