Men’s Western Blanket Coat – styled along mid to late 1800’s. Coat material is an Earlys Witney Point 100% wool jacket, deep blue with black stripes. The trim on the collar, and the fringes is buckskin? This was bought at a pow-wow many years ago and appears to be a hand-made one-off. There is no liner. It buttons across the waist like a double breasted coat. Length from hollow of the throat to bottom edge – 31. Laid flat across the back, pit to pit – 31. Laid flat across the front pit to pit – 28. Will close in a bit around the waist as it is buttoned, but is essentially a tube if unbuttoned.
